Thank you so much for your interest in Book 1 of my romantic fantasy series, Nullkin! Maybe you resonated with the themes of Nullkin, or the aesthetic was completely up your alley, but either way, I cannot wait to share this world I've created with you.This story was born during one of the hardest times of my life—postpartum. I had begun my mental health journey and found fictional writing to be the most effective tool I could get my hands on. The story poured out of me, and before I knew it, I had outlined an entire series. I had never written a book before, and didn't know if I could even make the rough outline come to life on paper, but each night after my daughter went to bed, I sat down, and wrote. Chapter after chapter. And before I knew it, I had completed Book 1, Nullkin. I read and edited it over and over, falling more in love with the characters, and detailed scenes of Book 2 began flooding my brain.I continued my writing, and once the story for Book 2 began to take form, I realized I could actually write and finish the series. Then could became had to, and I decided to post a TikTok about Book 1 to see if getting interest in the form of beta readers was even a possibility. I didn't know if this story was only captivating to me and writing should be kept solely as a therapeutic hobby, or if it could help others heal as much as it helped me. So I told myself that I'd put it out there and see what the universe did (I'm a big if-it's-meant-to-be-it-will-be person).I was shocked when comment after comment came in with people wanting to read my book based on the synopsis I posted. From those who responded, I got together a small team of reliable beta readers, and to my absolute shock, they all loved it! And not only did they love it, but they were dying for Book 2! Luckily for me, I had finished writing Book 2 during this time, and did another round of posting and beta reading. Again, my beta readers loved it! I began Book 3 and asked myself, why am I not putting this out there myself? The feedback had been great and it felt amazing sharing the story with others. So, I decided to self-publish.After heavily vetting some freelancers, I found a developmental editor for Book 1, and braced myself for a professional to read my work. And to my surprise again, I received the most incredible feedback! She said she even had to remind her developmental-editor brain that she was analyzing the manuscript as she did her first read because she became so engrossed in the story. I couldn't believe it, and it solidified my choice to self-publish. I outlined my publication timeline and began advertising, and here we are!I am incredibly grateful something resonated enough for you to want to visit my website, and I can't thank you enough.
